Envivio Demos Encoded Content

Envivio Inc. demonstrated for the first time the distribution of H.264 (MPEG-4 AVC) encoded content over the Hughes satellite network.
The live-source content is encoded at 1.2 Mbps, Envivio said, and the demonstration used the Envivio 4 Caster H.264 live broadcast encoder at Hughes‘ Germantown, Md., headquarters. The video was transmitted over the DirecWay satellite system to the Hughes booth (Booth #501) at Satellite 2004 in the Washington Convention Center. The content is decoded using the 4View broadcast decoder.
