Alcatel Space, the satellite manufacturing arm of Paris-based Alcatel [NYSE: ALA], has delivered the payload for the AM11 satellite to Russia’s NPO-PM, prime contractor for the Express AM satellites deployed by the Russian Satellite Communications Co. (RSCC). This is the seventh payload that Alcatel Space has delivered to NPO-PM.

The AM22 payload comprises 32 C-band (26 active) and 6 Ku-band (4 active) transponders, one fixed antenna and two mobile spotbeam antennas. It will offer TV, telephone and data transmission services, for a coverage zone spanning Western Europe, Russia, the Middle East and the Far East. Express AM11 is slated for launch at the beginning of the second quarter 2004 on a Proton rocket.
