MIPS Supplies Microprocessors For EchoStar Set-top Boxes

Mountain View, Calif.-based MIPS Technologies [Nasdaq: MIPS] is supplying its microprocessing technology for Broadcom‘s [Nasdaq: BRCM] set-top boxes for EchoStar Communications‘ [Nasdaq: DISH] satellite DISH 322 and DISH Player-DVR 522 products. According to market research firms cited by MIPS, its architecture has close to 30 percent share of the set-top box market
