Fueling of the AMOS 2 satellite for Arianespace/Starsem Flight ST12 is complete, and the spacecraft is now ready for integration on its Soyuz/Fregat launch vehicle. Liftoff of the telecommunications satellite, owned and operated by Israel-based Spacecom, is targeted for late December from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. AMOS 2 will have a liftoff mass of 1,370 kilograms and will be positioned at an orbital slot of 4 degrees West Longitude over the Gulf of Guinea. The satellite carries a payload of 22 Ku-band transponders and will provide distribution of digital TV channels and business data for private/public networks.
