ORBCOMM, a Dulles, Va.-based satellite telecommunications company, has renewed and extended its agreement with Caterpillar [NYSE: CAT] to provide wireless data access through its low-earth-orbit satellite network for equipment management services. ProductLink is a wireless equipment management solution that brings on-board machine systems to the desktop of Caterpillar dealers and customers. The ORBCOMM satellite network is an enabling technology for accessing engine hours, location, event/diagnostic information, and other machine conditions.
