SES Astra [Luxembourg: SESG] has appointed Stephen Rich as vice president and general manager of the African region for the Luxembourg-based satellite operator. The appointment took effect on Nov. 1. Prior to joining SES Astra, Rich was a regional vice president at the African unit of Wilton, Conn.-based PanAmSat [Nasdaq: SPOT].
