Boeing Team To Monitor Cargo Entering New York

      Boeing [NYSE: BA] is leading a team of companies that has been selected by the Port Authority of New York/New Jersey to implement a U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Operation Safe Commerce pilot program.

      Operation Safe Commerce is a federally funded initiative aimed at improving security of cargo entering ports in the United States and reducing threats to the supply chain. The Boeing team is composed of Iridium Satellite, an Arlington, Va.-based provider of global satellite communications services; ADT Security Services, a Boca Raton, Fla.-based developer of security technology; Global Marine Security Systems, New York-based provider of maritime security, transportation and logistics services; and Parsons, a Pasadena, Calif.-based project planning, engineering and construction company.
