Asia Satellite Communications (AsiaSat)and Connexion by Boeing, a unit of Boeing [NYSE: BA], have signed a lease agreement for Connexion by Boeing to use the Ku-band capacity on the AsiaSat 3S satellite to provide in-flight broadband communications services on Boeing’s flights in the Asia-to-Europe corridor. No financial terms were disclosed. Under the terms of the agreement, Connexion by Boeing will lease multiple Ku-band transponders on AsiaSat 3S located at the 105.5 degrees East Longitude orbital slot. The satellite provides high-powered coverage over East and South Asia.
