ND Satcom [PNK: NUDY], Friedrichshafen, Germany-based supplier of satellite-based broadband, broadcast and military communication network products, has been awarded a contract by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) for a satellite-based air traffic control (ATC) network for Iraqi airspace. Financial terms were not disclosed. The VSAT network being deployed would link the Baghdad air control center with sites at Mosul, Basra, Tallil, Kirkuk and Kuwait. The ATC network, consisting of six ground satellite stations, would enable IATA to reopen the Iraqi airspace to commercial flights.
