Canada’s Telesat Opens Office in Detroit

      Telesat, a Gloucester, Ont.-based satellite services subsidiary of BCE [NYSE: BCE], has opened an office in Macomb, Mich., located 23 miles north of downtown Detroit, to meet the growing demands for its services in the automotive, retail and lottery sectors in the United States. Telesat plans to staff the office with 11 full-time employees who will coordinate the activities of 600 field service representatives to serve the company’s U.S. customers. The 12,000-square-foot Macomb office is located close to Telesat’s major U.S. enterprise customers and roughly three-and-a-half hours by car from the company’s operations center northwest of Toronto.
