Parsippany, N.J.-based DRS Technologies [NYSE: DRS] has signed a $3.2 million deal with White Plains, N.Y.-based ITT Industries [NYSE: ITT] to provide satellite communications systems to support the U.S. military’s integrated monitoring and power control subsystem (IMPCS). Under the agreement between the two companies, DRS will produce spectral monitoring systems to aid military network operators in monitoring, controlling and managing satellite communications traffic and in optimizing the use of available bandwidth. The company also will provide support for system integration into the IMPCS network. DRS’ Tactical Systems (West) unit in Colorado Springs, Colo. will perform the work for the order. ITT’s Systems Division in Colorado Springs made the initial order. Deliveries are expected to commence in April and continue for six months, DRS officials said.
