Globecomm Awarded $4.4 Million In Contracts

      Hauppauge, NY-based Globecomm Systems [Nasdaq: GCOM] has been awarded multiple satellite infrastructure contracts and a service contract worth a combined value of approximately $4.4 million. The names of the customers were not disclosed. Under the terms of the service contract, Globecomm will host an international VSAT service from the company’s Long Island international teleport. Two repeat customers selected Globecomm to expand their current networks by implementing new satellite infrastructure. One of the customers will install a new international GSM gateway, while the second customer has contracted with the company to move certain equipment from a temporary teleport to a permanent location. A third customer procured subscriber terminal equipment as part of a previously announced direct-to-home project, Globecomm said.
