Hughes Joins With Sun To Deliver Biometrics Via Satellite

Hughes Network System, a Germantown, Md.-based satellite broadband unit of Hughes Electronics [NYSE: GMH], has joined forces with Sun Microsystems [Nasdaq: SUNW] and AC Technology for the delivery of biometric-related security products via satellite. Sun’s remote access terminals will be integrated with AC Technology’s BiObex middleware for biometrics applications and optimized for transmission over HNS’ DirecWay network.
