Eutelsat Awards Hot Bird 8 Contract To Astrium

Eutelsat has awarded a contract toEuropean satellite manufacturer EADS Astrium to build the Hot Bird 8 broadcast satellite for the Paris-based satellite operator. Hot Bird 8, which is scheduled for launch aboard an Ariane 5 rocket in early 2006, is the largest satellite ordered by Eutelsat. Hot Bird 8 will be located with other Hot Bird satellites at 13 degrees East Longitude.
