Eutelsat Pursues Hotel Video Market

Paris-based satellite operator Eutelsat agreed to work with Locatel, a French integrator of audiovisual technology services, to offer digital delivery of video rental films to hotels.
The deal calls for Locatel to use Eutelsat’s satellite services to link directly to local servers at the hotels. The arrangement would simplify the on-demand video delivery process and expand the range of titles available to hotel guests through Locatel, which currently provides the equipment for customers to deliver audiovisual and multimedia services to 135,000 hotel rooms and 70,000 hospital beds.
