SBCA President Wright Resigns

By Staff Writer | September 5, 2003

In a surprise announcement late Friday, Satellite Broadcasting and Communications Association (SBCA) President Andy Wright said that he plans to step down from his post, effective Sept. 20.

Wright, in an exclusive interview with SATELLITE TODAY, said that he has another opportunity lined up but was not willing to provide further details. “That’s an announcement for another day,” Wright said.

The job of defending the satellite broadcasting industry in Washington will be turned over on an interim basis to a team of senior SBCA officials upon Wright’s departure. Wright plans to help with the transition. “I wanted to be sure that SBCA had plenty of opportunity for a good transition,” he said.
