Globecomm, SkyStream Link Up

Globecomm Systems [Nasdaq: GCOM] has inked a deal with SkyStream Networks to use the video networking systems provider’s Mediaplex Video Services Platform to offer new video and data satellite services more quickly and cost-effectively. With the service, Globecomm plans to enter the international video and data delivery “backhaul” business as part of its SkyBorne Network Service, delivering large numbers of video channels and IP data to the Middle East and Africa at cheaper costs. Financial terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.
