Frequency Electronics [AMEX: FEI] has been awarded a $2 million contract to provide reference oscillators and frequency synthesizers for an undisclosed communication satellite. Delivery of these products is to be completed within 18 months.

According to Mitchel Field, N.Y.-based Frequency Electronics CEO Martin Bloch, “This satellite will provide substantial additional bandwidth and functionality in a small constellation of satellites which have been in orbit for many years. It is representative of many replacements we anticipate will be required for aging constellations of all types of satellites now in orbit.”
