SkyFrames, Orbit to Install Satellite-Broadband Wi-Fi Hotspot in Alaska

By Staff Writer | August 5, 2003

SkyFrames [OTC BB: SKYU.OB], a Cost Mesa, Calif.-based provider of satellite broadband Internet services, has signed a value-added reseller agreement with Orbit Communications Solutions to implement a Wi-Fi hotspot in Craig, Alaska. The initial installations will focus on connecting business subscribers in the community, which is accessible only by air or via the Alaska Marine Highway ferry, with SkyFrames satellite broadband services.

The system will be a combination of wireless connectivity solutions that will include 802.11 and omni-directional radio frequency antennas. Each subscriber to the Wi-Fi hotspot will receive their own IP address and will be responsible for paying monthly broadband charges.
