By Staff Writer | August 4, 2003

The launch of the DSCS III B6 military communications satellite aboard a Delta IV rocket from Cape Canaveral, Fla., has been postponed indefinitely, U.S. Air Force and Boeing [NYSE: BA] officials announced Monday.

The launch team will be replacing an antenna associated with the rocket’s flight termination system, and the work will not be completed in time to make the last day of the launch window on Aug. 5, the official said. The satellite was originally scheduled for launch on Aug. 3 (see ST, Aug. 1). Boeing said it is coordinating with the Air Force to determine a new launch date.
