By Staff Writer | August 4, 2003

The Federal Aviation Administration has given approval to a satellite radio system for aircraft offered by Sirius Satellite Radio [Nasdaq: SIRI], Clarion and Avionics Innovations.

A Sirius receiver manufactured by Clarion that is specifically customized for the aviation environment will be made available through Avionics Innovation’s dealer network. The receiver is designed to integrate into any aircraft’s intercom system so pilots and passenger can automatically switch between communications and Sirius radio programming.
