Hughes Network Systems Teams With Grintek Telecom In South Africa

Hughes Network Systems, a Germantown, Md.-based broadband satellite unit of Hughes Electronics [NYSE: GMH], has selected Grintek Telecom, a South African information and communications technology company, as its representative in South Africa. Grintek will focus on HNS’ account with Telkom SA, South Africa’s national telecommunications operator.

Grintek will work together with HNS to pursue the VSAT networking business with Telkom, including pre- and post- sales support of DirecWay service. Grintek will distribute HNS’ complete satellite product line.
