Digital Angel [AMEX: DOC], a Minneapolis-based provider of GPS-based tracking devices, has been awarded a contract to supply PM Beef with a GPS-based system for tracking livestock and capturing data from proprietary RFID and software products for use on cow/calf farms, feedlots and PM’s harvest and fabrication facility in Windom, Minn. Digital Angel is partnering with IMI, a Platte City, Mo.-based IT firm, to supply the system. PM Beef, headquartered in Kansas City, Mo, pioneered a gate-to-plate approach to beef production and marketing in the early 1990s.
