Thales Group has signed an agreement with Galileo Industries, the consortium set up to build, deploy and operate the European Galileo satellite navigation system, under which Thales will become the sixth partner in the consortium. Thales is acquiring a 12 percent equity stake for an undisclosed sum. Alcatel Space, Alenia Spazio, Astrium GmbH and Astrium Ltd. each hold a 19 percent stake in the consortium, and Galileo Sistemas y Servicios has a 12 percent stake.
