Stratos, a Bethesda, Md.-based provider of remote communication solutions and services, plans to offer Inmarsat Fleet 55 and 33 voice and data services worldwide in June.

The Fleet product range is the next generation of maritime satcoms, having evolved from the Inmarsat-A, -B, and -M systems, but using lightweight stabilized antennas. Stratos has also been selected as a sponsor land earth station operator (LESO) in Inmarsat’s maritime evaluation program for Fleet F33. This involves Stratos working as an airtime and technical supplier for the evaluation and testing at sea of the Fleet F33 terminal.
