NovAtel [Nasdaq: NGPS], a Calgary, Alberta-based precise positioning technology company, has acquired CMC Electronics’ non-aviation Global Positioning System OEM product line for C$150,000 (US $109,000). That amount could increase over time to as much as C$600,000 (US $434,000) in royalty payments, according to a NovAtel official.

NovAtel’s new product line will extend the company’s high-performance, upgradeable L1 and dual-frequency (L1/L2) product line into the mid-level L1 market.
