Marlink has signed a three-year agreement with Kyma Ship Management, of Miami, Fla., to provide satellite communications onboard the TSS Topaz cruise ship. The vessel will be under charter for three years to Peaceboat, a Japanese non-governmental organization.
The agreement calls for Marlink – a company within Telenor Satellite Services formed to serve as an interface between maritime customers and the satellite communications industry – to provide Sealink voice and high-speed data services. Operating at speeds up to 2 Megabits per second, the Sealink solution allows guests and crew to enjoy access to e-mail, fax services, and telephone service.
