ILS Launch of AMC-9 Postponed

Launch of the AMC-9 satellite has been delayed by about 30 days after the April 26 planned lift-off was postponed due to a technical problem with a component on the Proton rocket intended to carry the satellite into orbit.

The problem that caused the delay was detected during pre-launch verification activities at the launch pad in Kazakhstan. The anomaly either will require replacement or reworking and neither task can be performed while the rocket is on the launch pad. As a result, the launcher will have to be unstacked.
