LocatioNet, a San Diego-based developer of a location-based services for the wireless market, is offering gpsOne applications, known as PointSearch, based on Qualcomm‘s [Nasdaq: QCOM] binary runtime environment for wireless (BREW) platform. PointSearch was created by LocatioNet to use Qualcomm’s gpsOne position location technology, an assisted Global Positioning System (A-GPS) personal location solution for mobile phones. PointSearch allows wireless subscribers access to mobile information directories, city guides, and personal mapping, among other location-based information services.
