PanAmSat Looks For Turnaround In 2004
PanAmSat [Nasdaq: SPOT]COO Jim Frownfelter is optimistic market conditions will turn around in 2004, although he concedes this year is likely to be tough. PanAmSat recently issued some encouraging first quarter results, which were ahead of most analysts’ expectations. Frownfelter told SATELLITE TODAY: “The market is going to continue to be soft through the rest of 2003, and moving into 2004, we see some activity beginning to happen, in terms of people doing long-term planning. So, we are optimistic that things will start to turn around. For the rest of the year, the major challenge is maintaining the discipline and preparing for the turnaround to make sure we take advantage of it when it occurs.”
An exclusive in-depth interview with Frownfelter can be found in the April 23 issue of Interspace. For more information about subscribing to PBI Media’s satellite newsletters, check out our Web site at https://www.satellitetoday.com
