MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates [Toronto: MDA] has inked a deal with the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) to undertake a study which evaluates a tandem topographic mission with the RADARSAT-2 radar imagery satellite. The total value of the contract is C$300,000 ($206,000).

The study will build on the work performed in prior contracts to analyze the feasibility, operational effectiveness and affordability of such a mission. The CSA has already funded specific modifications to RADARSAT-2 to support a tandem topographic mission with a second spacecraft.
