NDS Group, U.K.-based provider of technology products for digital pay-TV, has signed a contract with Viasat Broadcasting, the satellite broadcasting division of Northern European Media Group, to deploy NDS VideoGuard conditional access on its satellite pay-TV platform in Nordic region.

Viasat said it chose NDS to protect its digital subscribers in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden from piracy and to reduce churn on the platform. In addition, it will allow Viasat to take advantage of new services offered by NDS’s conditional access solution.
