Integral Systems [Nasdaq: ISYS] has been awarded a contract with initial value of $4.7 million to upgrade the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration‘s polar ground system to support the initial joint polar-orbiting system. The total potential contract value, including all options, is $9 million over a four- year period.

The upgrade project represents another step forward for NOAA in securing a partnership with the European Organization for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites in establishing a shared polar-orbiting satellite system beneficial to both parties and to the world’s meteorological community.
