Zarlink Semiconductor [NYSE: ZL] won a contract to provide its MT312 demodulator chip for a new digital set-top box satellite receiver manufactured by Chinese satellite TV equipment company FuZhou ZhuoYi Electronics.

JiangSu YinHe Electronics, a Chinese supplier of digital TV equipment, designed Zarlink’s MT312 demodulator chip into its latest radiofrequency satellite set-top box front-end. The MT312 device enables customers in about 10 minutes to install satellite receivers to scan, select, and tune digital TV channels across the satellite broadcasting band, Zarlink (Beijing) officials said.
