Qualcomm [Nasdaq: QCOM] and Agentek, a provider of wireless mobile computing solutions, are teaming to deploy satellite-based fleet management system for Milan Express.

Using Qualcomm’s OmniTRACS mobile communications system and Agentek’s software, trucking company Milan will use the system for real-time dispatch and customer service. Agentek software enables the transmission of complete manifests with electronic signatures in 60- to 100-byte satellite message packets. This solution will enable Milan customers to track shipments via the Internet from pick-up to delivery and provide customers with complete visibility of delivery signatures, shipment location and estimated time of arrivals. Milan Express is rolling out the system to all of its 440-vehicle fleet.
