ITT Industries [NYSE:ITT] has been awarded a contract by the Department of the Navy‘s Space, and Naval Warfare Systems Command to provide hardware and software for the management and control of six military satellite communications system teleports around the world.

The system will provide U.S. armed forces with expanded communications capability, centralized integration capability, contingency capacity, and necessary interfaces (satellite and terrestrial) to access the Defense Information Systems Network (DISN). The TMCS, a part of the Teleport Program, will provide automation at worldwide teleport sites to allow for resource configuration and reconfiguration, system controller interfaces, nodal management, and control for each teleport component, and remote access to DISN and to satellite communications management and control centers.
