Global Positioning System receiver developer Fastrax and Globalpoint, a U.K. technology company specializing in asset tracking applications, have introduced the Globalpoint Companion product line, which includes miniature tracking beacons with embedded Fastrax GPS receivers and GSM/GPRS modems.

Fastrax (Helsinki, Finland) said the Companion tracking beacon is the smallest GPS/GSM/GPRS device available and is accurate to within 10 meters anywhere in the world. The discreet beacons can be moved from product to product or into new fleets of vehicles as required.
