SiRF Technology (San Jose, Calif.) has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Enuvis, a wireless location technology provider. The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

SiRF intends to integrate Enuvis’ assisted-GPS (A-GPS) technology into its SiRFLoc Multimode location platform, adding the ability to acquire GPS signals and deliver accurate location calculations inside buildings and dense metropolitan areas. In addition, Enuvis (San Francisco) brings a high-sensitivity, software-based GPS engine technology that can run on multiple DSP-based client devices.
