The speed and direction of high-altitude winds led French launch firm Arianespace to stop the launch countdown before the scheduled liftoff of the final Ariane 4 rocket in the early morning hours today. The Ariane 44L rocket and its Intelsat 907 payload are being maintained in a safe standby mode at Arianespace’s launch facilities in Kourou, French Guiana.
