The U.S. Air Force has launched a Delta II rocket, built by Boeing [NYSE: BA], with a Global Positioning System IIR-8 satellite and an XSS-10 demonstration satellite payload. The rocket lifted off from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station at 1:06 p.m. EST on Jan. 29.

The Air Force is also planning tomorrow to launch a Milstar 2 military communications satellite aboard a Titan IV-B rocket, build by Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT], from Cape Canaveral.
