Song, a new owned subsidiary of Delta Air Lines [DAL], will be offering in-flight satellite TV as part of its effort to meet travelers’ needs, company officials said. Song is partnering with Matsushita Avionics Systems and EchoStar Communications [DISH] and its DISH Network satellite TV service to provide on- board amenities that will include “live, all-digital” satellite TV programming.

Song, which will initially service routes between the Northeast and Florida, will fly its maiden voyage from New York City’s JFK International to West Palm Beach on April 15. By October, Song plans to operate 144 daily flights utilizing a fleet of 36 Boeing 757 aircraft.
