Radio Satellite Integrators (RSI), a provider of customized GPS-based vehicle tracking and mobile data solutions, has sold an automatic vehicle location (AVL) system to the Erie County, Pa., Water Authority (ECWA) in New York.

The ECWA is responsible for the upkeep and supply of water to 640,000 residents in the greater Buffalo area. The AVL system was procured through a public request for proposal process and RSI’s (Torrance, Calif.) system was selected as the best value for the ECWA.

Using RSI’s AVL system and Kenwood two-way radios, the ECWA is able to track and monitor its vehicle fleet for dispatching, supervisory and security uses. Viewed on RSI’s GIS mapping software, ECWA administration can see detailed real-time and archived location data for the fleet.
