Embratel has launched Business IP Sat, a new satellite Internet service designed to tap into the small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) markets in Brazil. The services are aimed at SMEs located in inaccessible areas. The service provides high-speed IP connections up to 500 Kbps for download and 76 Kbps for upload. The Business IP Sat uses the service platform of Star One. “The Business IP Sat will fulfil the requirement of access to the Internet of SMEs located in areas with no infrastructure,” noted Luiz Antonio Francisco de Souza, Embratel’s Internet service manager.
