The struggling interactive games service Sportal has been sold for a nominal price to the online gaming company UKbetting. Some eighteen months ago BSkyB paid around GBP10 million for a 5.4 per cent stake in Sportal, and at one time Sportal was discussing selling out to Canal+ for a reported GBP275 million. In a recent statement, the company admitted it was seeking fresh solutions to its business model.
