SHOWTIME WINS DISNEY MID-EAST

      Orbit, the struggling Middle East pay-TV platform has lost its exclusive use of the local Disney Channel, which has now signed a non-exclusive deal with Orbit’s arch-rival Showtime. Showtime is owned by Kipco and Viacom.

      Disney’s agreement is the second major channel to be won by Showtime in recent weeks. Showtime recently signed an exclusive agreement with E! Entertainment TV to create a Middle East version of the channel. Previously, E!’s content was carried by Orbit.
