Russia has exported four rocket booster units to India, with the option of the country taking a further three, allowing it to implement its satellite launch programme before 2005. The units will be assembled in Indian-manufactured carrier rockets and used mainly for DTH satellites, and Russia will also assist in modernising India’s Shar space centre by building an additional launch pad.
