Radio 22, a local FM youth channel based in Trier, intends to become available to a pan-European audience by transmitting on the Astra satellite system (19.2 degrees East). This was confirmed by managing director Sven Herzog, who explained that the service will broadcast in digital free-to-air with the technicians currently setting up the signal feed to the uplink station in Betzdorf, Luxembourg, operated by Astra operator SES. So far, Radio 22 has only been available on FM 88,4 MHz and local cable networks in Trier and surrounding area and as a live stream on the Internet at http://www.radio22.de.
