Neibal Group International of Abu Dhabi has signed a contract with Thailand’s Shin Satellite to transmit the first Urdu digital television channel to broadcast family entertainment. The channel, a joint venture with Media Assets of the UK, is called Asian Multimedia Network (AMN) and will broadcast free to air, 24 hours a day, on both the global and regional C-Band transponders of Thaicom 3, commencing on October 15. AMN says Thaicom’s will deliver the signal throughout South Asia, the Middle East, the Arabian Gulf, Africa and Europe.
