National Geographic Television has added another UK digital channel, Adventure 1, from November 1. A company spokesman said the material is expected to attract younger viewers than its existing National Geographic and National Geographic plus one hour channels. The channel has a four-hour block rotated through 18 hours of transmission. Described as a "soft launch" it has a schedule that may be changed month-on-month, "but we are seeing how it performs" said National Geographic. Additionally, Scandinavian viewers will also get Adventure 1 as part of the Canal Digital service from Canal Plus/Telenor. BSkyB remains a joint-venture partner in Nat-Geo’s European channels.
