Studio Universal, the pay-TV movie channel operated by Universal Studios Networks Germany, will most probably be able to launch, as planned, on 1 September. Following the directors of the 15 regional media authorities, the federal anti-concentration commission has now given the green light to Universal Studio’s second TV channel in Germany. It is expected that Berlin-based media authority Medienanstalt Berlin-Brandenburg will grant the licence in the next few weeks. "We want to launch Studio Universal on 1 September on Kirch-Group’s digital platform," said Wolfram Winter, managing director.
